Create, Co-muse, Compose: course of 5 sessions
1 March 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm GMT
An event every week that begins at 7:30 pm on Monday, repeating until 29 March 2021

Five practical and creative sessions exploring generating your own new material using sound, words, movement and image. Through playful and wide-ranging improvisatory starting points there will be opportunities to develop and refine new solo and/or group improvisations and compositions.
Liz will guide you at your own pace and encourage you to think outside the box with your voice, body, instrument and imagination. Perfect for any performer (any instrument) ready to push yourself in new directions and want to collaborate creatively with others. No previous improvisation/composition experience needed.

“I very much appreciated being able to give and receive feedback to each other in the most supporting and authentic way. I felt completely inspired and uplifted by everyone.”
“We felt the sounds that words inspire in us… then develop those sounds into a piece (of open structure). This helped me see new nuances of an affect, search for new ways/colours within a musical idea.”
“First I found it more challenging to come up with ideas because I would be a bit self conscious or doubtful but along the process I learned to trust my instincts more and embrace whatever came more naturally. I would say things became fresher as we progressed.”
“I found myself asking “why the hell not?” Instead of “that is not a good idea”/ “you are not good enough, or free enough”, …etc which is my natural tendency. To not be so afraid of making a fool of myself —> jumping around like a monkey, laughing through the instrument, also admitting that something is hard or difficult and it is okay to talk about it when you are in such an accepting environment.
