Moving fearlessly back into live music

Are you anxious about live playing after lockdown? Do you feel you have lost your chops? Are you terrified at the thought of a live audience, feeling unusually tense or depleted? Or are you simply wanting some fresh inspiration and to reconnect with yourself and your fellow musicians?

You are not alone!

Returning to live music making will bring joy and relief for many, but there are clearly other feelings lurking in the wings. Whether on stage, in an audition, rehearsal, exam, or classroom, never has the need for self-care been so vital.

In these two consecutive half-day sessions Sophie Renshaw and Ruth Phillips will offer tools and creative processes which will help you:

  • Release self-judgement
  • Rediscover playfulness
  • Stay embodied
  • Learn to let go
  • Use your breath to support your movement
  • Stay grounded
  • Become present

From Café Zoom to the Concert Hall’ is open to all string players wanting to ease the transition back from screen to stage in a safe, creative and compassionate environment.

This is a closed group with a maximum of twelve participants.
