Let Bach Live!: 5 Minuets and Bourrées
15 March 2021 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am GMT£15
A series of six 60 minute classes exploring Bach’s dance movements through breath and gesture.
Playing solo Bach can be a daunting experience. Not only are you alone, but you are also playing some of the greatest music ever written. The good news is, you can change this experience. In this series of classes, you will let go of your fear of Bach’s perfection. You will learn instead, through your breath and your bodies, to connect to the music’s logical, organic, and deeply human shapes. You will learn how the harmonic structure supports you, freeing you up to improvise and let go. Through kinaesthetic awareness you will find the gesture of the music deep in your torso. By working with gravity and rebound, you will find where to release. Through mindful listening you will learn to quieten the internal chatter, creating space to rest, listen, and follow your inner dance.
These classes will take the form of a masterclass but there will be ample time at the end of each one for your questions and discussion.
