Five 60-minute sessions on how performance influences our posture, grounding, breath, mind and emotions.

“What Ruth teaches is so natural, and I’ve never met anyone who has articulated the steps so clearly” – Jenny, violin professor, Boston

In this series open to all musicians, Ruth Phillips challenges the deep-rooted belief that taking care of ourselves on stage is selfish and egotistical. Instead, she offers an alternative view – that, by listening inwards and offering ourselves kindness, comfort and compassion, we also take care of the music and of our audience. In each section, Ruth will introduce simple yoga, movement and/or mindfulness practices that can support you on and off the instrument, during your practice, in the green room and on stage. There will also be time for your questions and discussion.

“So powerful – a magical distillation that comes from a honing down of hours of research” – Lucy, gamba player, UK
