The Zen Practice Room: How to practice mindfully
Slowing down is the highway to liberation. Like a weekly yoga class, these sessions are an invitation to discover the true nature of mindful practice. Listening to our bodies and our breath we become clear in our intention. As our biases change and holding patterns release, we find ourselves present and in flow. We will discover a way of working in which every moment of our practice has the capacity to serve every moment of our music making.
1 course,
Limber Up! 3: The Shoulders
Limber Up! 3: The Shoulders
How are we inhibiting our natural flow and creating pain and injury? In these sessions we will debunk the myths of ‘good posture’ - ‘feet flat on the floor’, ‘straight back’ and ‘shoulders back and down’. By waking up the spine and the feet, by finding our ground and allowing our shoulders to move freely and our breath to support us we will invite the whole body to participate in the dance of sound we are creating, promoting efficiency and ease in our playing.

Taking the Plunge
Taking the Plunge explores what it’s like to jump off into unknown waters in our lives. Together we will examine how we handle risk-taking - and the inevitable feelings not knowing, or of feeling wobbly, when venturing into new territory. With inspirational guest speakers and break out rooms we will share our experiences of how to seek and find support as artists, and as people.
